Prize Draw Compliance
At Galloping Giveaways Ltd, we are committed to running fair, transparent and responsible prize draws. We follow the principles of the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, UK consumer protection law, and relevant advertising and data protection rules.
This page explains how we operate our prize draws in a compliant and trustworthy way.
1. Fairness and Transparency
We want every entrant to understand exactly how our prize draws work. Each competition page clearly displays:
- The prize
- Entry price
- Any entry limits
- Opening and closing dates
- How the winner will be selected
- Whether instant wins or auto‑draws apply
All draw processes are designed to be fair, auditable and verifiable, in line with the principles of the Voluntary Code.
2. Free Entry Route (No Purchase Necessary)
We provide a genuine, equal free entry route for every prize draw.
Our free entry route:
- Requires no payment
- Is clearly explained
- Must be submitted in line with our Competition Terms & Conditions
- Is accepted up to the same entry limit as paid entries
- Gives the same chance of winning as a paid entry
All valid free entries are processed in the same way as paid entries and included equally in the draw.
Following legal advice, we do not require entrants to answer a skill‑based question. Our compliance is based on providing a fair and accessible free entry route and selecting winners purely at random.
3. Responsible Marketing
We promote competitions responsibly by:
- Avoiding misleading claims
- Not presenting competitions as a financial solution
- Encouraging moderation
- Respecting opt‑out requests
- Providing clear information about maximum entries so entrants understand the worst‑case odds
We want competitions to remain fun, fair and accessible.
4. How Winners Are Selected
We use fair and transparent methods to select winners, including:
- Secure random number generators
- Auto‑draw systems
- Manual random draws where appropriate
All valid entries — paid and free — are included in the draw.
We maintain:
- Entry lists
- Draw logs
- Evidence of randomisation
These records allow us to demonstrate fairness if requested by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
Galloping Giveaways is a signatory to the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators. All draws are conducted using a secure randomisation process, such as a secure random number generator or a digital random wheel. Every eligible entry has an equal chance of winning, and winners are selected purely by chance, strictly in accordance with the laws of chance and the principles of fairness and transparency set out in the Prize Draw Code of Practice.
We may publish the winner’s surname and county unless the winner objects. Even if a winner chooses not to be publicly named, we may still be required to share their details with the ASA to verify the draw was conducted properly.
5. Cash Alternatives
Where a cash alternative is offered, the amount will be clearly stated on the competition page. Winners may choose either the advertised prize or the cash alternative. Offering a cash alternative supports transparency and ensures winners have a clear and flexible choice.

We do not accept entries from:
- Employees of Galloping Giveaways
